Blair Athol Distillery was founded in 1798 by John Steward and Robert Robertson and distils Blair Athol single malt whisky. It is used in Bell's whisky, and is also normally available at 12 years old. The distillery is located in Pitlochry, and is a pleasant walk for Benvrackie B&B.
The Enchanted Forest is held in the Faskally woods, and focuses around Loch Dunmore. A fantastic display of light and sound, you will be amazed by the light displays, suitable for all of the family. A bus transfer is available from Pitlochry, book early to avoid disappointment.
Pitlochry Golf Course is a lovely 18 hole course set in the hills above Pitlochry. Great views are the main feature of this challenging course. The clubhouse is also a great place to get a bite to eat or a drink after your game.
The dam at Pitlochry holds back the waters of Loch Faskally, and the salmon ladder gives thousands of salmon each year a chance to get upstream to spawn. There is a viewing chamber where you can see the salmon making its journey up the sections of the ladder.
One of Pitlochry's best known attractions, the Festival Theatre offers a great range of plays, musicals, concerts and talks throughout the year. A selection of plays are on through the Summer, and there is a nice restaurant and lovely gift shop in the theatre too.
Edradour Distillery is reputed to be the smallest in Scotland. At Edradour they produce a Highland single malt whisky. Established in 1825, the distillery was traditionally run by three men but now there are just two. Only twelve casks are produced each week. They have a tour which includes a dram.
House of Bruar is also known as the 'Harrods of the North'. Luxury brands are available and gorgeous cashmere, tweed and country clothing. The food hall is a must to pick up some true Scottish delicacies, including haggis, tablet and Venison.
