Our location, Pitlochry
Wherever you start your journey, you’ll find that Benvrackie B&B, just outside the pretty Victorian town of Pitlochry, is very easy to reach, either by car, or by public transport. There are very good, direct bus services from cities all over the UK, including London (Megabus and National Express) and Inverness and the coaches arrive right in the centre of the town, from where it is only a short hop by taxi (or bike!) to Benvrackie.
The railway station is also very conveniently located behind the main street in Pitlochry and there are excellent (and frequent) services in and out of Pitlochry from the central belt. The two main stations are Edinburgh and Glasgow, with regular connections via Perth which stop in the town, as does the King’s Cross-Inverness sleeper.
For drivers from the south, it takes about two hours to reach us from Edinburgh, Glasgow and other central belt cities and we’re only a matter of minutes from the Pitlochry turn-off on the A9. Pitlochry is less than two hour’s drive on the A9 from Inverness in the north and, from this direction, again take the Pitlochry turn-off, drive straight down Atholl Road (the main street) and we’re less than a mile from the petrol station on the southern edge of town.
If travelling from abroad, the most convenient airports are Glasgow and Edinburgh but there is also the possibility of flying into Inverness or Dundee in the east.
Although there is much to experience in and around Pitlochry, for those wanting a trip a little further afield, Perth is within easy reach (c. 35 minutes) and full of interest, with art galleries, a concert hall and museums. Aberfeldy (c. 20 minutes) is home to the Birks Cinema (our nearest) which has a varied programme of up-to-the-minute films and live opera/theatre broadcasts from London.
Our bedrooms are individually decorated and well equipped with all of the modern amenities.
Enjoy your morning in our light and bright breakfast room with spectacular views of the Tummel Valley.
The local area offers visitors many fine places & attractions to visit as well as the 'Theatre in the Hills'
